Oilenough for about two inches in the pan
1cupbuttermilk pancake mix
1/8 teaspoonvanilla extract
⅓ cuppowdered sugar
Place two inches of oil in a pan over medium low heat on the stove top.
Make the buttermilk pancake batter. (You can use your favorite store bought or make your own).
Dip the Oreo into the batter. Be sure to release the cookie away from you.
Fry for about 10 - 15 seconds per side or until golden brown.
Place the fried Oreo on a paper towel lined plate and allow to cool completely.
Garnish and top with powdered sugar.
To make pumpkin cinnamon deep-fried Oreos: add one half teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice and one tablespoon of pumpkin puree into the pancake batter.
Serve immediately for the best flavors.
Substitute the Oreos with vanilla Oreos if you want to change up the flavors.
Make sure to test the oil. You will want to make sure that it is hot. If you do not have a candy thermometer, then you can use the handle of your wooden spoon– if it bubbles then it is ready.
