This homemade Sourdough Skillet Cottage Pie is something that I whipped up real quick one day because I was trying to use some of my discard and I did not have any potatoes in the house. It was a hit, my family loved it! It did not even make it until the next day. For more of my favorite sourdough recipes go to my Recipes for Discarded Sourdough Starter page.

What’s the difference between a shepherds pie and a cottage pie?
Shepherds Pie is made with lamb while a Cottage Pie can be made from a variety of meats, however mostly beef.

Can Le Creuset Go In Oven?
Yes, you can absolutely put your Le Creuset cast iron in the oven since they are oven-safe. This means, you will easily be able to brown your meat on the stovetop and move the pan and lid to the oven to finish the cooking process. u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIt is an extremely versatile pan to have in your kitchen.
