Our Road Trip to Corpus Christi – Day 1 and Day 2
Our trip, Austin to Corpus Christi drive was fast with minimum traffic. Which makes for a great weekend getaway. With two teens, two dogs and a lizard. It may for a little bit of an adventure.
Day 1
Our first stop was the hotel and getting settled in then we hit the town to get oriented with the area. Rick likes to map out our plan before we go and drive around to see what’s close once we get there. We normally map out our trips in advance to make sure, no matter where we are starting from we know how long it should take us to get there. Including stops to rest and stretch if needed.
How long will it take me to drive to Corpus Christi? Depending on your starting point it’s not too bad of a drive. Here are a few examples.
These drive times do not include stops for stretching, rest or breaks of any kind.
Drive time to Corpus, give or take bathroom breaks and traffic, is about 3 hours and 30 minutes and 217 miles from Austin.
How far is Corpus Christi from Houston Texas? Well about the same distance. It will take you 3 hours and 15 minutes and 207 miles from Houston.
How far is Corpus Christi from Dallas Texas? So, Dallas traffic can be a little tricky so here is what he have found researching the times around noon. It will take 6 hours and 30 minutes and 411 miles.
Arriving in town
Once we arrived at the hotel, we waited for a room to become available and then unloaded our weekend gear and set off to dinner and to do a mini drive of the area so that we could see what was close to us to do.
We did not stay out long as we wanted to make sure that we had enough rest because day 2 was going to be an early rise, 3:30am so that we had enough time to get ready, get the dogs and lizard fed and watered and ready for the trip to the beach. We also made sure to pack all camera equipment and chargers the night before.
