Countdown to Christmas: Where To Take Family Christmas Photos Museum of Memories
I’m not sure about you, but I have been looking for a place to take fun family Christmas pictures for years. The last place we took cute family pictures were in Las Vegas about 10 years ago.
The hubby and I talked and decided it was time for an update to our holiday pictures.
So we set off on an adventure to find a place where we would be able to take fun family Christmas pictures.

Now, if you are like me and not very creative when it comes to building a set to take pictures, then look
for places like Museum of Memories. They take care of all of the hassle. You just walk around and take pictures in each little mini set.

How To Take Your Own Holiday Photos
First let me say I am not an expert in photography. But, I will say that we didn’t want to take pictures that are overly styled, or saturated with fake colors. We wanted a polaroid type moment. You know, the ones where you just take the picture after you say “cheese”. And whatever comes out, comes out.
With so many of us having smart phones it really makes it super easy. Here is what you will need.
Equipment:
SmartPhone or DSLR
Light (Wishing I brought one here to get rid of shadows)
Tripod (This is key. You can put your phone or camera on delay timer and you can jump in the photo with the family).
Please note: If you don’t have a tripod no worries, the employees are also there to help you take photos. 🙂
Clothes:
You don’t need to be matchy matchy, but it is good to at least have everyone in the same or very close to the same color pants/shorts/skirt.
Next, choose a top. We did not intend to have three of us matching. But we did and by the time I saw that Ricky had a grey shirt on, you know after the hurry up and get in the car mad dash, I decided I would leave it up to him if he wanted to wear a black shirt. You can see he didn’t.
Now you don’t have to take so many of these family Christmas photos as we did.
We wanted to show the variety that is at Museum of Memories

I know my son looks like he is not having a good time…but keep going… you’ll catch glimpses of the
dazzling smile. But whenever he sees the camera he turns into Chandler Bing.

Why Taking Your Own Family Photos Can Be Rewarding
For us, we decided that we wanted to be able to spend a solid hour or two taking pictures. Often times hiring a photographer can be a little overwhelming. One, you have to coordinate your family to the photographers schedule, the weather, the availability of the location, cost per shoot, etc.
This was simple, you simply pick your day and your one hour time slot and pay for your admission for each family member (children 3 and under are free).
How easy is that?
This time we were going for fun family Christmas pictures. How did we do?
