Fantastic Steak Marinade
I love to make steaks at home. Part of making steaks at home is making a good steak marinade that will give a lot of flavor and one that will also help to tenderize the meat. We have made the best steak marinade that is easy, fast and delicious.

This is one of the first recipes that I learned when I got married. It is simple and the marinade can be made in under 5 minutes and it is full of flavor!

How to make a steak marinade
The best way to make a marinade for steaks is to use a heavy-duty zip top bag. Once you add the meat to the bag and then top with the marinade you can tip closed, removing all air and then massage the meat for a minute. Then place the bag in the fridge for one hour.
After one hour, take the bag out, massage the meat and place it back in the fridge for 4-12 hours.
When you are ready to use. Take the bag out of the fridge and let it to come to room temperature. Then place the meat in a hot oiled frying pan or grill and cook to medium, which usually takes about 5 to 7 minutes and the temperature should read 140 degrees. Make sure to flip it only once.

Steak Marinade Ingredients
8 oz Can of tomato sauce
¼ Cup of sugar
5 Cloves garlic, roughly chopped
½ Cup pineapple juice
¼ Cup apple cider vinegar
1 Tbsp liquid smoke
2 ½ tsp onion powder
1 Tbsp ground cumin
2 tsp dried oregano
2-4 Tbsp of honey
1 ½ tsp of crushed red pepper flakes (rub them in your hands to activate them) You can use more if you like more spice
My go to quick steak marinade method
Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Place steak in a zip top bag, then pour marinade in the bag. Zip the bag closed. Make sure to remove as much air as possible. Massage the marinade into the meat. Marinate the meat for 2-6 hours. Around the halfway point of marinating, massage the meat again, and flip it over. This will make sure that all the meat gets to take a dip in the marinade.
I mainly use it for steaks but it can also be used for chicken, BBQ sauce or for brisket.and more.. If you use it for a BBQ sauce replace white sugar with brown sugar and add a dash of Worcestershire sauce.
After the marinade is done, I will have a something to drink and prep veggies. If you plan on roasting veggies, I would wash them now and let them dry so that they have a nice texture when you cook them.
What is a good marinade for steak?
My go to would be anything with pineapple, apple cider vinegar, orange juice or lemon or lime juice. Then just adding in a few herbs and spices
