The Trendy Tortilla Wrap
If you are on social media, you’ve probably seen this Tiktok trend going around with this charcuterie wrapped in a tortilla and grilled. Well, I loved it so much and I wanted to give it a little twist.
A New Way To Wrap Your Tortilla
This trend is all about separating your round tortilla into four quadrants and placing ingredients in each quadrant until you create a folded tortilla that fills you up.
This wrap is usually folded and grilled. This gives you the chance to experience your tortilla wrap in a new and fun way. Plus, it’s very easy to make!
What Goes With Brie Cheese?
Brie goes with just about anything. The French often eat brie with just a simply crusty baguette that will not overwhelm its mild flavor. Crackers will do just fine as well.
If you want to bring out the velvety flavor of brie, go with something acidic such as fruits like grapes, apples, or pears. You can even have jams and honey with it.
What Goes With Ham In A Sandwich?
Well, it will depend on how you like your sandwiches. You can make them savory or a combo of savory and sweet. Here are a few things that we think go well together. You can mix and match.
- Turkey
- Mustard (Brown, Yellow, Honey Mustard or German)
- Aoli
- Tomato
- Onion
- Lettuce
- Bacon
- Cheese (brie, cambambert, swiss, goat, Muenster)
- Pickles
- Pesto
- Jam (apricot, strawberry, raspberry, apple, peach, cranberry)
- Tapenade
Are You Supposed To Melt Brie Cheese?
Not if you don’t want to. Most often than not, you will find a brie wheel on a charcuterie platter cut in wedges.
However, some people now have melted brie and started dipping their bread of choice. This gives a richer texture and a fuller taste.
Personally, I prefer melting the Brie. This way, the whole family can enjoy eating cheese, especially the kids!
What Meat Does Brie Go With?
Since brie is milder in flavor, you want something that is a bit more flavorful but not to the extent that it will overpower the creaminess of the brie.
Prosciutto is one of the most common meats that is paired with it. A soppressata or coppa would work just as well.
But an all-time favorite of mine would be the Bauernschinken a.k.a “Farmer’s Ham”. The smoky flavor of this ham is enhanced by the mild yet satisfying flavor of the Brie.
Should Brie Be Served Warm Or Cold?
This depends entirely on you and how you will use it. A good tip would be if you are using brie for sandwiches, use it cold or room temperature.
Use melted brie for crostinis and as grilled cheese for topping for a dish.
In this recipe, we will be melting the brie inside the tortilla to bring out that creaminess that compliments your meat
What Jelly Goes Well With Brie?
The eternal classic would be the strawberry raspberry jam pairing. A sweet fruit jelly would be the route to go. That’s why I chose this for this recipe.
Some also use fig jam and cherry jams. A rule that I always follow is that when unsure, go for the red fruits.
How Do You Warm Up Brie Cheese?
Brie can be warmed up in many different ways. The most common way is to bake it in the oven rind on. When you take it out of the oven and slice the cheese, watch as it slowly oozes out onto your plate ready to be dipped on.
Some slice the Brie and grill it for a bit and before placing it on crostini or as a garnish for other dishes. You can also turn it into a fondue as well. Just remember that the rind is edible but it does not melt.
Let’s get started! Below are the step by step instructions.
You can find the full writing instructions further down
Prep tortilla by making a slit at the bottom all the way to the middle of the tortilla.

Combine arugula, extra virgin olive oil and lemon juice until well combined.
Gather your ham, strawberry raspberry jam and your Brie cheese.
Add arugula and jam to the left side
Add the ham to the top right.

Add the cheese the the bottom right, directly below the ham. Right next to the arugula.

Now, here some the fun part.
Fold the arugula on to the jam.
Then fold that section over the to ham
Lastly, fold over the brie

Add your tortilla wrap to a grill pan.
Place a pan on top of it. I filled mine with beans to make it stay together better.
Cook until you get a nice golden color on your tortilla. Usually for about about one to three minutes per side.

Delicious toasted ham and cheese wrap.

A New Hit Pairing For Your Wine Nights
If you enjoy wine nights as much as I do, this will be the perfect dish to serve. I know that this will be on the cheese board the next time I host my wine night parties.
Recipe:
- 1 10-inch Sourdough Tortilla
- 2 round slices Ham
- ½ wheel of Brie Cheese sliced
- 1 tablespoon Strawberry Raspberry Jam
- ⅓ cup Arugula
- 1 teaspoon tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- ½ teaspoon Lemon Juice
Instructions:
- Prep your tortilla by cutting or slicing a slit at the bottom part up to the middle. This is needed for folding the tortilla.
- Combine your arugula, olive oil, and lemon juice and mix until all leaves are dressed coated well. Gather your ham, brie cheese, and strawberry raspberry jam
- Imagine dividing your tortilla into four quadrants and start assembling your wrap. Start with placing the slices of brie on the lower right quadrant of your tortilla. Moving clockwise add the dressed arugula, then the slices of ham, ending with the strawberry raspberry Jam on the upper right-hand corner.
- Start folding your tortilla with the arugula side over to the ham, then the jam, and lastly the brie cheese.
- Once your tortilla is ready, place it on the grill and watch the brie just melt transform into its delicious gooey state. Once brie is melted enough, flip to heat the other side until you get a nice golden color on the tortilla.
- All that’s left to do is to plate and serve.
Tips:
As you are folding up your tortilla, make sure that the arugula is sandwiched in the middle of all the other ingredients as to not wilt the beautiful greens.
Also, make sure that you have the brie on the outer side of the wrap so when it’s time for the panini press, the cheese melts perfectly.
If in the event that you do not have a panini press at home, you can use a stovetop grill and use a pan filled with beans to press on the tortilla panini. A brick covered in aluminum foil can also be used as an alternative.

Notes:
If brie is not your cheese of choice, you can always substitute it for other soft cheese that you may like. A Camembert or a nice bleu cheese would also taste good with this deli tortilla.
In the matter of meats, if the Bauernschinken is not available in your area, a good alternative that we like is the Coppa Piacentini. Coppa is thin, salty and melts in your mouth like butter. You can also use Prosciutto in place of the farmer’s ham for the saltier flavor.
If a grill is not available, a hot non-stick pan will also be good for heating and melting this tortilla wrap.
