This Watermelon Popsicle Recipe is a simple alternative to ice cream, perfect on a hot summer day, and one of those easy recipes to get us all to eat more fresh fruit.
Watermelon popsicles are a great way to get additional vitamin c with no added sugar these sweet treats are a lot of summer fun. Just make sure to choose the good watermelon as it will help with the flavor and sweetness of the watermelon ice pops.
These delicious pops are one of my favorite homemade popsicles recipe that I have made over the years and will take your popsicle making to the next level.
Ingredient Checklist
- Small watermelon
- Vanilla Yogurt
- Honey, maple syrup or agave
- Mashed kiwi
- Mini chocolate chips or cocoa nibs, optional
Instructions on how to make homemade watermelon popsicles
Cut or scoop out the juicy watermelon and add to blender.
Blend watermelon on high and strain out the seeds.
Once strained, you will want this to look like watermelon juice.
Fill cavities a little more than half full.
Add cocoa nibs if you’d like to make it look like there are seeds. Place in freezer for one hour
Mix together yogurt and sweeter. Pour mixture into the mold.
Mash kiwi with a fork
Add the mashed kiwi into the melon popsicle mold
Remove molds from the freezer, add yogurt mix. Freeze for 45 mins then add kiwi.
Add the popsicle stick into each mold and let freeze until solid for a minimum of 4-5 hours.
Remove Watermelon pops by placing popsicle mold in warm water for a minute or two to loosen the popsicles to make it easy to remove. Do not fully submerge the mold. Only place in water until just under the top of the exposed pop.
